Herbal Goodness

I never gave a recap of the Slow Food Northern NJ event a week or two ago, but I do want to say that it was great.  It had really good attendance and some excellent vendors.  I only wish these types of things happened more often!

Anyway, at the Slow Food event, I met Anne, the owner of Dégagé Gardens.  She grows her own herbs and flowers and makes handcrafted skin products, potpourri, sachets, eye pillows and more.  You can also buy her refillable products.  We’re going to have to try out the organic catnip at some point, too.  Her ingredients are all organic and she makes all possible efforts to do her business in a sustainable way.  This includes using rain barrels, biodegradable bags for packaging products, second-hand office furniture, organic fabric options and much more.

You can buy her products at a number of locations throughout the region.  In Morristown, The Health Shoppe carries them, as does Whole Foods in Madison.  Check out the extensive list of vendors here.

I bought a lavender sachet that I keep on my pillow during the day.  The scent of lavender is supposed to be relaxing, so it’s great to smell before I rest my little weary head.
