Support the Healing Arts Park

A little while ago I posted something about the group trying to convert land behind the Morristown Town Hall into a park/green space.  Right now the land is a little…unloved.  But the new Healing Arts Park should change all of that, if it can get the support of the new administration in town.  The plan for the park has been up on the town’s website for a while now, but from what I hear, it has yet to see any action.  The design, created by landscape architect Carolle Huber (also of Grow It Green Morristown), aims to green up the parking lot a bit and improve the land behind the lot.  It will include a rain garden, labyrinth path, seating and a butterfly garden.  Sounds like quite the little paradise to me!

If you couldn’t make the meeting back then but would still like to show your support now, come to the town council meeting on Tuesday, March 23 at 7 p.m. (sharp).    Kristin Ace will be presenting on behalf of the group during the time allotted for townspeople.  If you have anything positive you’d like to say about the project, there’ll be time for that too.   If you don’t have anything nice to say, come sit by me.  They need bodies like us to show that there’s support for the project within the community.  I know just enough to know that more green space is always a good thing, and I plan to attend as soon as I can on my way home.  Is anyone else planning to go?  Let me know in the comments!
