Some of you may have heard of proposed $300 million in budget cuts to the state’s clean energy budget by Governor Christie. The clean energy budget gives homeowners and businesses rebates on investments in clean energy and is probably the reason why NJ is the second state for solar energy behind California.
Environment New Jersey has made it easy for NJ citizens to email their state legislators to show their disapproval. Those interested can click this link and fill out a simple form that will then send an email to legistlators.
I’d suggest some reading on the situation might be in order if you don’t know much about it. Here’s info on budget cuts straight from the horse’s mouth. And here’s the discussion of the impact of those cuts. And here’s a press release from Environment New Jersey.
After you’re done with all of that, get outside for a bit. I’m sure you deserve it, and it’s a beautiful day already. Given the holiday weekend, there isn’t much organized outdoor fun going on, but go for a walk with friends or family, or have a picnic! I love picnics.
