If you haven’t already solidified your weekend plans, I have two more options for you.
1.) It’s Revolutionary Times Weekend! Let the nerd in you run free all weekend long with events running today through Sunday. Meet George Washington on the green on Saturday from 12 – 12:30 p.m. for a hike to Fort Nonsense, or view the PBS special Morristown: Where America Survived on Sunday at the Morris Museum. Or, visit one of the area’s many museums or historic homes holding events. While its not green per se, there’s definitely an important link between sustainability and appreciating (and preserving) history. Plus, I’d hazard a guess that George’s carbon footprint was pretty minimal, so maybe there are some lessons to be learned there (transport via horseback?). Check out the full weekend agenda; there’s something for everyone’s schedule.
2.) Harding Township is holding a town clean up day (where was this info when I was writing the post on town clean-up days, I ask) tomorrow, Saturday, April 17. It’s from 9 – 11 a.m. so those that are still interested in attending the Morris County Earth Day Celebration can still do both. Meet at Bayne Park, get your free t-shirt (while supplies last), enjoy refreshments and get your street assignment. Wear sunscreen and bugspray, they warn. Rain date is for Sunday, same time.
Enjoy the weekend! Happy Friday!
